Postnatal Midwifery Support
I am passionate about providing you with the postnatal support, evidence-based information and guidance that you need to help you positively adjust to becoming a parent, whether this is your first time or not.
I’m not here to tell you what to do, but to provide you with reliable, practical information that helps you make the right decisions for you and your baby.
I can provide you with the time, consistency and midwifery experience that you deserve, so that you remain at the centre of your postnatal care.
You decide the frequency of our contact, the type of support you’d like me to provide and how this is best delivered to you.
I work very flexibly and tailor my support to your individual needs – for some of you a one-off virtual consultation is sufficient to discuss any challenges you’re encountering and to ask all your questions.
For others, choosing a more comprehensive support package may be your preferred option. This can include supporting you during your first or second night at home with your newborn.
How I can help you?
Consistent and regular support -
The evidence is unwavering when it comes to the positive impact that regular and consistent support has on both your experience and postnatal outcomes.
I’m on hand when you need me and will be the constant and reassuring voice you're looking for. I provide WhatsApp support from the moment you book with me, so I really am alongside you all the way as you get to know your newborn and adjust to parenthood.
Postnatal planning; life at home with your baby -
Having continuity with someone you know can significantly improve your confidence in the early days of new parenthood.
Being prepared for the reality of the first few weeks at home with your newborn is key to helping you find your way through the rollercoaster.
I can talk you through normal newborn behaviour and how they work/ what to expect as your baby transitions from womb to world.

Infant Feeding support
Whatever your preferred infant feeding method, I will fully support you in your choices
With almost 40 years’ midwifery experience, I have the knowledge, skills and experience to support you compassionately and practically as you embark on your infant feeding journey
I don’t believe in rigidity, nor that infant feeding goals should be pursued at all costs. I will offer you my full support and will help guide you where this might be needed.
I can support you through the common infant feeding challenges that you may encounter

Grandparents-to-be
Navigating your way through becoming grandparents for the first time can be tricky. I can help prepare you with a virtual session to consider the potential pitfalls and ensure that you feel able to support your child positively in your new role.
I will talk you through current baby care and safety recommendations and help you think ahead to potential areas of conflict and how to avoid them.
Well-meaning advice from grandparents can easily be perceived as criticism by tired new parents.
If you’re going to prepare yourself for becoming a grandparent, then why not consider offering my support to your child as well as they get ready to become a parent themselves? You can purchase consultations on their behalf - I’d be delighted to support you all.
Previous poor or traumatic experience
If you have had a difficult experience with the maternity system before, have had a previous traumatic birth, or where your baby was born premature or sick, I’m so very sorry that this happened to you.
I completely understand that the first hours, days and weeks of parenthood can trigger upsetting memories and flashbacks, and that it can be a very anxious time for you. I can listen and support you through this
I have extensive experience in this area and have supported many women in these circumstances. I can provide you with consistent and compassionate support and will work in partnership with you to identify those areas where you feel you need some extra support.
