  • "I had my first baby unexpectedly on Central Delivery Suite, having planned a Birth Centre Birth. It was very quick (I had fulminating preeclampsia) and I was feeling pretty out-of-sorts, alone, and unsure on how to look after the new human who I had just given life to. When Vicky walked in to provide my postnatal care everything changed. She told me that I had done a fantastic job, reassured and supported me with my care of my new little daughter, and honestly was like a ray of sunshine shining into the room, despite it being well past midnight. Vicky’s caring and loving attitude transformed the whole experience for me, I began to feel empowered and confident, and sure that what I had just done was actually pretty darn impressive! I have since trained as a Midwife myself and have always remembered what a difference joy and love can bring to anyone’s experience, no matter what happens. I would whole-heartedly recommend Vicky as a Midwife; thank you so much Vicky, you changed our lives "

  • “Vicky was such a calm, kind, reassuring presence during our time on the Maternity ward. She helped me hugely with breastfeeding and treated my husband and I with such compassion as we navigated a tough family loss alongside the birth of our son. I’ve also really appreciated the thoroughness of Vicky’s note-taking! The week of our son’s birth is such a blur and looking back over Vicky’s notes has helped me piece events together and remember such a special time more clearly. I could not be happier that Vicky was the one on shift during those difficult first few nights and she is a credit to the midwifery profession”.

  • “Many thanks for supporting myself and family after the arrival of our daughter. In particular the night staff - Vicky you were so understanding of the effects of  having a C-section, then caring for a newborn afterwards, coupled with having no partner support at night. Thank you for supporting me in catching some sleep.”

  • “I’ll be forever grateful for the incredible care I received after giving birth to my baby, all thanks to Vicky.  From the moment I met her, she made me feel so supported, reassured and genuinely cared for during such a vulnerable time. Her kindness, patience and expertise was unmatched. She went above and beyond to ensure I felt confident and calm as a new mum. Vicky checked in on me even outside of her working schedule, patiently answering all my questions and offering amazing advice that gave me the confidence I needed as a new mum. She genuinely cared, not just about my baby’s well-being, but mine too, making sure I felt supported emotionally and physically.  Her kindness, professionalism and dedication were unparalleled and I honestly don’t know how I would have managed without her.  Vicky was more than my Midwife! I am forever grateful for what she did for me and my family during such a special time.   Thank you Vicky xxxxxxxxx”

  • “As a fellow midwife, I have had the pleasure of working with Vicky for many years. Vicky encapsulates what it means to be a midwife and ‘with woman’. Her clinical competence is enhanced by her ability to put anxieties at ease. I am inspired by her calmness and kindness as I have witnessed how this has had a positive impact on the team she has worked with. There is one episode of care that always comes to the forefront of my mind that highlights the brilliant care Vicky provides. Vicky was quick to recognise that a baby needed treatment for jaundice and was reluctant to feed. This had a big impact on the woman’s mental health. Having taken over the care the following day, I was inundated with praise for Vicky from the woman. Her motherly approach combined with years of experience changed what could have been a difficult time for the woman into a positive one that encouraged bonding and the support to feed her baby in a way that felt right for her. I wholeheartedly recommend Vicky to all families. I have seen how she works and can say with full faith that she is the guiding light families need in what can be a joyous but challenging time. I do not doubt that Vicky will continue to make a positive impact on all those she cares for.”

  • “From the first time I met Vicky four years ago, she has been a beacon of kindness, empathy, nurture and knowledge towards women and colleagues. She shines pure gold.  I remember sending Vicky a message as a newly qualified Midwife myself, saying how supportive and understanding she had been on my first few shifts. Vicky replied with gratitude and positive feedback - demonstrating her kind ethos and mentorship.  It is an absolute joy to observe the care Vicky provides to women and their families. Her approach is holistic and gentle. She has a wealth of knowledge and thrives in spending time with the women and babies in her care.  I often find myself saying to other newly qualified midwives, Vicky is the one to watch. How she is, what she knows, her professionalism, how she cares and supports, it is inspirational. I for one, am in awe of the graft Vicky puts herself through to provide the best possible outcomes for women and babies.”
